Upon participating in the Youth Grand Prix 2025 Japan Semi-Finals, (“Competition”), I, the Participant, or I, the Participant’s legal representative, agree to the following terms in their entirety.
Article 1: Consent to video/audio recording
1.I grant Youth Grand Prix Japan (“YGP Japan”) and parties consigned to perform work on YGP Japan’s behalf permission to make video, audio, and photographic recordings of the Participant’s performances (including but not limited to stage practice, rehearsals, and workshops (classes), and applying mutatis mutandis below) during the Competition.
- I grant YGP Japan and parties consigned to perform work on YGP Japan’s behalf permission to make video and photographic recordings of the Participant, and record the Participant’s voice, in contexts outside of performances during the Competition, be they on stage, off stage (including but not limited to stage wings, hallways, and warmup spaces, but excluding dressing rooms/green rooms), in lobbies, within the Competition space (such as seating), and during workshops (classes) (including when receiving instruction, and applying mutatis mutandis below).
- I shall not claim consideration from Youth America Grand Prix, Inc. (“YAGP”) and YGP Japan (collectively with YAGP, “YAGP et al”), and the successors to YAGP et al’s businesses, and parties consigned to perform work on their behalf, for the video, audio, and photographic recordings (“Recordings”) set forth in Clauses 1 and 2.
Article 2: Consent to use of performances
- I grant YAGP et al and their successors, and parties consigned to perform work on their behalf, a worldwide, unlimited license with no restriction on time or scope to freely use ① Recordings of the Participant’s performances, likeness, and voice per Clauses 1 and 2 of the preceding article; ② video, audio, and photographic recordings of the Participant’s performances, likeness, and voice made by YAGP et al and parties consigned to perform work on their behalf during (including prior to and after) all prior competitions held by YAGP et al; ③ other video, audio, and photographic recordings of the Participant’s performances, likeness, and voice made by YAGP et al and parties consigned to perform work on their behalf by obtaining individual consent (items ① to ③ collectively referred to as “Participant Performances”).
- I grant permission to YAGP et al and their successors, and the parties consigned to perform work on their behalf, a worldwide, unlimited license with no restriction on time or scope to duplicate, display, post, disseminate, sell, broadcast (including wired broadcasting), screen, or otherwise automatically transmit to unspecified numbers of the public (including but not limited to Internet streaming and uploading to social media) (collectively, “Duplicate” or “Duplication”) media (including but not limited to printed matter, CD-ROM, DVD, and other recording media or duplications) containing Participant Performances and other performances.
- I grant YAGP et al and their successors a worldwide, unlimited license with no restriction on time or scope to freely provide or assign to, or lend to or permit the use of by (including but not limited to broadcasting on television or other media, wire broadcasting, screening of films or other content, use on third party web sites, uploading to YouTube or other social media, and reprinting in magazines or other printed matter), third parties media containing Participant Performances or other performances.
- I grant YAGP et al and their successors, and the parties consigned to perform work on their behalf, a worldwide, unlimited license with no restriction on time or scope to freely edit, change, dramatize, modify (including dubbing over the voice of the Participant with other voices), adapt, create into a film or screenplay, or otherwise adapt or modify (collectively, “Edit” or “Editing”) Participant Performances and media containing said performances.
- I grant YAGP et al, and the parties consigned to perform work on their behalf, permission to stream on the Internet in real time conterminously with the event the Participant’s performance, likeness, and voice, whether in whole or in part, during the Competition and workshops (classes).
- I acknowledge that use, Duplication, Assignment, and Editing (collectively, “Use”) of Participant Performances as set forth in Clause 1 to Clause 5 includes all manner of promotional and revenue-generating activities by YAGP et al and their successors.
- I shall not seek consideration from YAGP et al and their successors, and the parties consigned or permitted to perform work on their behalf, for Use per Clauses 1 to 5.
- I confirm that YAGP et al and their successors are under no obligation to utilize Participant Performances.
Article 3: Moral rights and other publicity rights
- I grant YAGP et al and their successors, and the parties consigned or permitted to perform work on their behalf, permission to freely use at no cost the Participant’s likeness, name, career background, and handwriting.
- I pledge to not exercise moral rights, including but not limited to right to likeness, publicity rights, and privacy rights against Use under the preceding article by YAGP et al and their successors, and the parties consigned or permitted to perform work on their behalf.
Article 4: Performer’s moral rights
I shall not exercise against YAGP et al and the parties consigned to perform work on their behalf, the right to preserve integrity concerning the Participant’s performances, nor the right to indication (or non-indication) of the name as a performer (whether as one’s given name, stage name, or other alternative name) as associated use of the Participant’s performances.
Article 5: Vesting of rights
- I acknowledge that the copyrights and all other legal rights to videos, moving images, photographs, audio, and other works containing Participant Performances and created by YAGP et al, their successors, and the parties consigned to perform work on their behalf, and works derived from the same, vest with YAGP et al.
- Excluding cases where YAGP et al and their successors, and the parties consigned to perform work on their behalf, voluntarily provide or sell the copyrighted works in the preceding clause, I shall not demand the delivery of the same.
Article 6: Prohibition of audio and video recording, and disclosure, by participants
- I pledge to not make audio, video, or photographic records within the Competition venue without the express permission of YGP Japan.
- I pledge to not disclose, without YGP Japan’s permission, the content of Participant Performances (whether in whole or in part) to unspecified large numbers of people (including but not limited to uploading to social media and other web sites).
Article 7: Liability regarding winning of prizes
I acknowledge that, even where the Participant is unable to receive cash or other prizes as a result of participation in the Competition and/or related events, YAGP et al, their successors, and parties consigned to perform work on their behalf bear no liability.
Article 8: Liability regarding life, body, and property
- I acknowledge that in participating in this Competition, full responsibility for the safety of the life, body, and property of myself and the Participant rests with me, and I will devote the greatest possible care so that during participation in the Competition, in places of any kind, such as waiting rooms, performance venues, classrooms, and hotel rooms, there will be no loss or theft of hand-held baggage and no injuries or other harm.
- I acknowledge that, in the event that during participation in the Competition an incident or accident (including but not limited to viral infection) occurs such that there is harm to life, body, or property of myself or the Participant, YAGP et al, their successors, the Competition sponsor or sponsors, and other related parties bear no liability for indemnification of damages.
Article 9: Cancellation or postponement due to force majeure
- I agree that in the event of an earthquake, flood, tsunami, typhoon, fire, war, epidemic, or other force majeure, YGP Japan may, at its discretion, decide to cancel or postpone the Competition.
- I also acknowledge that YAGP et al bear no liability for indemnification of damages even where the cancellation or postponement in the preceding clause results in damages to myself or the Participant.
Article 10: Handling of third party rights
- In participating in the Competition, I pledge to obtain, at my sole responsibility and expense, the requisite permission as concerns use of the copyright to choreography and music from the individuals or managing bodies with the legal right to said copyright.
- I acknowledge that if, pursuant to the Participant’s performance, I am subject to a lawsuit or other dispute regarding infringement on the rights of a third party, I shall be solely liable for the matter and shall indemnify YAGP et al for any damages resulting from the dispute (including attorney’s fees).
Article 11: Pass Cards
- I acknowledge that pass cards are lent by YGP Japan for the purposes of identifying scheduled attendees to the Competition venue and do not represent a conferral of rights to enter the Competition venue (permission to enter the Competition venue is determined at the time of admission).
- I acknowledge the pass cards are lent by YGP Japan only to parties who consent to the consent form, and shall not be assigned or lent to third parties without the approval of YGP Japan.
Article 12: Rejection of anti-social forces
- I represent and pledge that I am not, nor will be in the future, any of the anti-social forces enumerated below.
① A criminal organization; ② an affiliate of a criminal organization; ③ a party who was a member of a criminal organization within the last five years; ④ an associate member of a criminal organization; ⑤ a political racketeering organization, organized crime syndicate, or equivalent; ⑥ other parties equivalent to the above - I represent and pledge that I shall not engage in any of the acts enumerated below, whether myself or through a third party.
① Violent demands
② Unauthorized requests that exceed the legal bounds
③ Use of threatening language or behavior, or using violence, in negotiations or trade
④ Disseminating rumors or using fraudulent means or influence to damage the reputation or obstruct the business operations of YAGP et al
⑤ Other acts equivalent to the preceding items - I represent and pledge that, in the event that I am found to have violated any of the above items, or that this representation and pledge is found to have been false and participation in the Competition is suspended or revoked without warning, I shall raise no objection and seek no indemnification or compensation, and acknowledge that I shall be solely responsible for any damages.
Article 13: Governing law
This consent form (including the matters in the additional consent form on COVID-19 and the privacy policy) shall conform to the law of Japan and be interpreted in accordance with Japanese law.
Article 14: Court of jurisdiction
All disputes arising in connection with this consent form (including the matters in the additional consent form on COVID-19 and the privacy policy) shall be adjudicated at the Tokyo District Court as the exclusive court of first instance.
Article 15: Severability
Even where an article, clause, or provision of this consent form (including the matters in the additional consent form on COVID-19 and the privacy policy) is found invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in effect and be amended to no longer be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable.
<<Provisions regarding COVID-19>>
Article 1: COVID-19 infection risk and responsibilities
- I wish to participate in the Competition and attend the Competition venue (“Venue”), having understood the risks of exposure to COVID-19 within dressing rooms/green rooms, waiting rooms, and other sites within the Venue (“Within the Venue”) where people may congregate. I wish to participate in the Competition and attend the Venue at my sole responsibility and risk, and pledge to not seek liability or damages from YAGP et al as a result of my, or the Participant’s, infection with COVID-19.
- I acknowledge that YGP Japan has the authorization to possibly suspend the semi-finals in the event that COVID-19 spreads prior to the Competition, or an attendee, YAGP et al staff member, or other party entering the venue becomes infected with COVID-19 by another participant, and if any other force majeure event occurs. I shall not raise any objection regarding the decision made by YGP Japan.
Article 2: Provisions on entry and regulations within the Venue
- If the Participant gets infected with COVID-19, I pledge that the Participant shall not enter the venue until five days elapse starting from the day of symptom onset (in the asymptomatic case, five days after the date of test with the positive result) and one day elapses after the symptoms start subsiding (“the day of Symptom onset” “the date of tested positive” “the day of the symptoms starting to subside” are regarded as the day 0). If the Participant’s performances are scheduled within this period, I also pledge to have the Participant withdraw from the Competition.
- I pledge not to seek liability, a refund of the participation fee or damages from YAGP et al for my being unable to enter the Venue or participate in the Competition due to any of the stipulations of the preceding clause.
Article 3: Miscellaneous
I acknowledge that YAGP et al waive all liability for any disputes arising between participants and attendees as concern COVID-19.
<<Privacy policy>>
Article 1: Terms
“Personal information” as used in this Privacy Policy refers to personal information as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and corresponds to information pertaining to a living individual and the information therein, such as name, date of birth, address, telephone number, or other details which could be used to identify that particular individual.
Article 2: Handling of personal information
YGP Japan collects personal information when users apply for participation in competitions hosted by YGP Japan and complete scholarship questionnaires, as well as when users submit inquiries to YGP Japan. Personal information we obtain is used within the scope of the purposes described under “Use of personal information” below.
Article 3: Use of personal information
YGP Japan utilizes personal information it collects for the following purposes.
・ For acceptance of participation applications for the Competition and other communication (including sending of materials) and notifications related to the Competition
・ To receive scholarship request questionnaires
・ To respond to inquiries
・ Where including the name, entry number, sex, place of origin (nationality and prefecture/state and city of the address on file), career background, affiliated studio, accomplishments, and performances of participants on Competition programs (including where posting said programs on the YGP Japan web site).
・ To post (including on the YGP Japan web site) the name, entry number, sex, place of origin, career background, affiliated studio, accomplishments, and performances of participants of the Competition with exemplary performance
・ Where, for the purposes of advertising and revenue-generating activities, YGP Japan and its successors publish the name, entry number, sex, place of origin, career background, affiliated studio, accomplishments, and performances of participants as part of exhibiting, disseminating, selling, broadcasting, airing, or streaming on the Internet (including uploads to social media) Participant Performances
・ Where urgent contact is required
・ To advertise projects related to YAGP et al and provide other information
・ To notify users about dance-related products and services
・ To request payment of fees by participants for competitions hosted by YGP Japan
Article 4: Management of personal information
In order to prevent the loss, misuse, or alteration of personal information under its management, YGP Japan maintains guidelines on the handling of personal information, conducts the requisite and appropriate supervision of its personnel, and implements strict security measures on its information systems.
Article 5: Provision to third parties
- Excluding the cases below, YGP Japan does not disclose personal information to third parties.
・ Where requested by a publisher, broadcaster, or other mass media outlet (“Mass Media”) for information on Competition participants with exemplary performance for the purposes of listing their accomplishments, we may provide to said Mass Media the name, entry number, sex, age, place of origin, career background, affiliated studio, competition name, results, video, moving images, and photographs (collectively, “Name”) of the participant.
・ We may, for the purposes of scholarship applications and dance company agreements, provide to the scholarship-providing schools and dance companies information on Participant Performances, as well as the participant’s name, sex, date of birth, height, weight, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and affiliated studio.
・ We may provide participant contract information (name and e-mail address) to third parties such as Competition sponsors and affiliated organizations for the purposes of notifying participants about dance-related products and services.
・ Where providing photographers with the name, entry number, and affiliated studio of participants for the purposes of purchase procedures for Youth America Grand Prix Final photographs by participants.
・ Where outsourcing the Duplication and Editing of Participant Performances to third parties for the purposes of advertising or revenue-generating activities, YGP Japan and its successors may provide the participant’s name, entry number, sex, place of origin, career background, affiliated studio, accomplishments, and performances.
・ Where outsourcing work such as shipping, testing of program behavior, data maintenance, etc. to another company. In said case, YGP Japan will exercise due care in the selection of contractors and ensure that the consignment agreements are appropriately structured such that personal data is safely managed.
・ Where consent has been obtained from the individual.
・ When there is an imminent danger to human life, body, or property, there is an urgent need to disclose said information, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual in question.
・ Where otherwise required by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other applicable legislation. - Where, pursuant to the preceding clause, the third party is located in a foreign country other than Japan, this will constitute YGP Japan’s provision of the personal information to said third party outside of Japan.
Article 6: Joint use
YGP Japan may make joint use of information it obtains with YAGP, which is located outside of Japan.
⑴ Personal information items subject to joint use
All personal information we collect may be subject to join use.
⑵ Scope of joint use by third parties
The party with whom we share information for joint use is YAGP.
⑶ Purpose of joint use
The same as the purposes stated under “Use of personal information” in this privacy policy.
⑷ Party responsible for management of joint use of personal information

Article 7: Disclosure, changes to, and revision of registration details
- YGP Japan strives to manage the personal information of participants in an accurate and up to date manner.
- From the start of the application process for the Competition hosted by YGP Japan until the application deadline, participants can view, correct, and add to their personal information on their own My Page. YGP Japan only responds to requests for disclosure, correction, or addition of or to personal information made elsewhere than the My Page where the request is made from the same e-mail address the person has on file and where YGP Japan deems that the person making the request is the individual in question.
Article 8: Inquiries, consultations, and complaints regarding personal information
Please direct inquiries regarding the protection of personal information to the YGP Japan Office.
